The PHHA was founded by the late Jesse Pond, USS Chew, former Treasurer of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association (PHSA). The PHSA Constitution limits membership to ANYONE who was (1) in the US military (2) within three miles of Oahu (3) during the attack (cited as 0755-0945).
Jesse Pond came to realize that so many non-veterans and non-family members were interested in preserving Pearl Harbor History. A host of PHSA veterans helped and the PHHA came into being to "Keep the Record Straight" about the events of 7 Dec 1941.
With the help of Larry Jewell, the PHHA now maintains the largest World War II site on the blue marble (as Larry says): Select documents and testimony from the Congressional Investigation of Pearl Harbor. Membership also helps produce a quarterly newsletter.
With the passing of so many of the founding PHSA veterans, the leadership of the PHHA is now in its second generation. The flag has past. Your help to maintain such a gathering of history to "Keep the Record Straight" is needed as we go to the third generation from 7 Dec.
