Anybody know where I can find a shot of the radar screen on the Opana Point-type radars?  I want to illustrate what Elliott and Lockard were actually seeing.

I know that in the movie Tora3 you get a pretty good close up of the radar and operator.  Maybe you can capture a fame of the film and try that?

Not sure how accurate the depiction of the equipment is in the film but it may give you a good starting point for an illustration.

Just a suggestion.

The on-screen rendition was very close to what Elliott and Lockard would have seen, as it was basically just an oscilloscope that got its input from the magnetron (?) on the receiver.  In the interest of historical faithfulness, however, I want to find and verify that the picture I put up is actually from an SCR-270B system.  No joy so far.  Got to get into the Archives.

As we are discussing the SCAWHI: Signal Company, Aircraft Warning, Hawaii (Signal Corps) this thread is moved to the US Army category.
