Commander Models is releasing a line of 1/350th scale resin battleships. They plan on releasing a model of every battleship moored at Pearl on December 7th, 1941.

First release is understandably the Arizona
Commander's Arizona page
Review of the kit

Very expensive kits but highly detailed.

Yes, but for company charging that much for a kit and claiming great accuracy, do they know realize how inaccurate their model is??

Sorry about being such a wet blanket, but I guess that I'm tired of folks making statements about accuracy of their kit and then still having "structural" mistakes, not just cosmetic goofs.

Agreed Brian
Sometimes it's a matter of economics; they need to get the kit out to make money and the more they spend on research the less they make. I would prefer to get an accurate kit but I can understand why some companies cut corners a bit.

Sometimes it's due to the limits of the technology. The Frame 88 area of the Arizona is almost impossible to mold in either injection plastic or resin

Sometimes they just don't have the passion for accuracy that we do.

I'd love to shake the box and have a completed model come out. But I'd rather have a kit to fix up a bit rather than no kit at all.

Still, for $275 I want a kit that I can put together without having to spend a lot of time fixing his bad research!
