Does anyone know if any pictures exist of the USS Enterpise's brief stay at Pearl right after the attack.

What kind of pictures are you looking for? Detail shots? Pictures of her sailing in?

She was only at Pearl for a day, and with all the damage and destruction going around I would imaging that most of the photographers were busy documenting other things. There may be a picture or two of her in the channel, but I would be very surprised if there were any pictures of the flight deck, or refueling, etc.

I would have to agree with your assesment on the photographer's. However, I've never seen any photos that showed the Enterprise in the Harbor for that brief time. I guess any pictures would suffice. Do you know where she actually docked up that night given the chaos and all the debris and damage in the harbor. The only photo I've seen is of the Northhampton entering the harbor. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks

My guess is that Record Group 80 at the College Park NARA campus would be the best place to start. Either there or the Navy Historical Center.

I'm hoping to make it to NARA myself, but it won't be until next year.

Hello Mike,

I wrote very briefy about the stay of Enterprise in Resurrection: Salvaging the Battle Fleet at Pearl Harbor. I'd have to check my notes at home later tonight, but as I recall she tied up at F-9 and darkened ship. Some lighters were tied up outboard to protect against torpedo attack as she was provisioned and fueled. The exact times of arrival and departure escape me right now and I dont have a copy of the book with me but I can get them for you. I did not come across any photos of the ship in the harbor, but wasn't really looking for one either.
