I know for myself that daily, I wished I could travel back in time for just an instance to actually witness the day. But from where and what angle would that be? Would I choose to be at Hickam and see the destruction there? Or how about be on board a ship. What about seeing it from the Japanese view?

If you had a chance to go back in time and live through the day where would you like to see it from?

The most fascinating personal account of the battle I have read was Battleship Sailor.  The author was on lookout duty on top of one of the bird cage masts of one of the battleships when the attack came in.  That was some impressive seat!

The Navy Yard...I'd have a grandstand seat for the attacks, and not be in danger of being sunk.  :)

Hi,

From the 250+ survivors I have talked to/met...I have determined that in a recliner chair 50+ years later on TV is the best seat.

The fear was unimaginable...the sight of fellow soldier's/sailor's bodies unbearable...the anger uncontrollable.

The best seat in the house would probably have been Fuchida's, as he no doubt found the fear, sights, and anger as exhilarating.
