Ah Mike,
I see that you have vounteered to go to the National Archives and spend a couple of minutes to xerox all of the unit rosters for each branch of the military and match these to the individual records at St Louis to confirm the presence of service on 7 Dec 1941 between 0755-0945.

Whew! Now that project is assigned...Who wants to tackle the combat locations of every person on board each ship and where the bodies were recovered? We might then connect unknown deceased with a name if this is done!

I'd absolutely love to do it!  Think it might be easier than trying to read the microfilm crew lists from the West Virginia? :-)  I've got the rest of my life, eh?

Super! Mike!
or should I say "Super Mike"...;-)

Volunteering can get you "into" Pearl Harbor history REAL deep. What we need to do is have a BUNCH do select sections at a time....

However, which project would be quicker...
to isolate the combat locations for each person on each ship
OR
to determine who was on Oahu in the military
???

As you said, "I've got the rest of my life, eh?"

I have spent the past 35 years on the MIA American and Japanese airmen of 7 Dec 1941, so I quite understand the devotion to duty one MUST commit to such endeavors.

We'd have to go by ship, wouldn't we?  Wasn't that how records were kept?  It's not impossible, is it?
