Hi,

It's with deep regret that I'm announcing the passing of my Father on October 15, 2007.

Dad was aboard the Nevada on 12/07/41.  He was assigned to a 20mm anti-aircraft gun mount, port side aft.  Like so many others of that great generation, he really was just a kid at war at 17+ years old.

After PH, he was sent to school as a radioman and then served aboard the USS Iowa as a member of her "plank owner" crew, then transferred back to the USS Nevada after she was rebuilt.

He spent the rest of WWII aboard her and was a member of her final crew when she was sent to Bremmerton for preparations at Bikini.

Dad loved that old ship & his shipmates.  He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather & Great Grandfather.  He will be greatly missed.

Ed
