Friday night I was at the Pearl Harbor Remembrance  our local VFW has every year to honor the survivors, and those that lost their lives. I have been attending it for as long as I can remember. Three years ago, for the first time, all four of the  survivors from our small town were there, including my father. Two years ago my dad passed away the morning of Dec. 7th.Two days later one of the others passed away. Last year only one could be there. This year there were none. We all vowed to continue this gathering every year as long as we are alive and hope that the next generation will do the same.
As for the events of Sept. 11th, I urge you to do what I am. Write about what you were doing and how you felt. Keep photos & Newspaper clippings on it. If you were there, or know someone that was, talk to them. Write it down. By doing this I am hoping that my Grand-children and Great Grandchildren will never have to wonder what I did and what I was feeling that day. They will also, hopfully, keep the facts straight.
