Hi,
I am 24 and my Grandfather was a survivor of Pearl Harbor.  Since he passed away 28 years ago, I really don't know very much about Pearl Harbor.  Twenty one years after the Attack he was interviewed by our local newspaper and I have the newspaper article.  The information in this article is all that our family knows because he wouldn't talk about what he witnessed.  I was wondering if there was a list of men that were on the ships??  He was a naval seaman second class and was in the receiving barracks.  He was less than 1,000 yards from the USS West Virginia and USS Oklahoma when they sunk and was sent aboard the USS Pennsylvania.  He also mentions in the article that many of his close friends were on the cruiser ship "HELENA".  If anyone has any information for me I would GREATLY, GREATLY appreciate it.
Thank you so much.

I don't see a reply to this. Is there such a list? I am in the same situation regarding my (deceased) grandfather. He would not speak of what happened that day or in the aftermath and I am having a hard time finding any information. I am not "next of kin" and can't apply with the standard form 180 because of this, and because I lack some of the info.

Is there a list of names of who served on which ship?

I haven't seen one, but you might try contacting the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association and see if they know of such a list.

It would be quite an undertaking.

Let's see what this does...
