Michael Slackman, of the National Park Service, authored an excellent publication entitled Remembering Pearl Harbor.   In it he states that due to Presley's long term love of Hawaii, he raised over ten percent of the memorial's cost.   Part of that was raised through a 100% benefit performance at Bloch Arena, March 25th, 1961.   Incedently, the most expensive reserve seat ticket cost $10.00; a far cry from the cost of Elvis tickets later in his cereer.
