I found this DVD at Walmart for under $10. Ya can't beat that price for a classic movie. ;)

Hi Jim:

That is a very good price for the DVD version of the movie. I have several copies on both VHS and DVD. The extra features on the DVD add to the movie.

As for the movie as a retelling of history, it in my opinion does a very good job of telling the story as accurately as a movie out of Hollywood. It was also made before the new trand toward Political Correctness, so there is no slanting of the roles each side played in the history of the attack.

For me it also tends to dispell the rumors about Roosevelt knowing of the attack in advance. You can easily see how the breakdown in communication took place and how important information was mishandled by both the Army and Navy intelligence staffs.

In latest Pearl Harbor movie, it does a terrible job of keeping the events in their proper perspective.

If you watch that movie you also need to watch the National Geographic video called "Pearl Harbor - Beyond the Movie". This video does a true or false comparision to the movie and helps to weed out all the falsehoods put in by the Political Correct police that exists today in Hollywood.
