I am currently seeking all parts (volumes) of the Congressional Hearings into the Attack on Pearl Harbor for my personal collection. I'd appreciate any help or information.

Ken-
I picked up a complete set in almost mint condition here about six months ago off Ebay. Living here in Iowa, there is only one set in a library, and that is in a state college no where close to where I reside. Ten years ago, I drove quite a few hours to a university in Minnesota that had a set to photo-copy about 700+ pages so I could refer to. But you could imagine how it was for me to get home and trying to thumb through those. A nightmare.

But the set I bought on Ebay was out of a circuit court judge's personal belongings. He was a judge in the Sioux City Iowa area in the 40's, and recently passed away. An antique book dealer living in Omaha, NE picked them up in a large lot of misc. books, and put them up for sale not knowing what they would go for.

I ended up getting them for $400. A complete almost mint set for $400!!! What a steal! Since then I have only seen one more set up on Ebay and it had a reserve price of $800. There is one on at an on-line used bookstore right now going for $1145.00, but it only has 28 of the 39 volumes.

If I see a complete set Ken that isn't too unreasonably priced I'll let you know.

Regards!
Chris

Chris,

I got all 39 volumes for $207.00, so I am very happy. Thanks for the tip on ebay! Now I have to get my fingers readdy to pick up where Larry left off on typing each volume onto a CD and doing the entire set that way. It isn't going to be much longer before these sets won't be available at all in the original paper copies.

Ken-
I was watching this set too and was hoping that no one would put in a last minute bid. $207! Now that is a steal compared to my purchase.

Happy for you. Good luck!
Regards!
