Hi Steve. David freely admits to not being up on the conspiracy side of things.. his specialty is the air attack.

While I haven't read Morgenstern's book, I did read Robert Stinnet's "Day of Deceit" and Toland's "Infamy." I worked with WWII cryptologist Phil Jacobsen to the best of my abilities to fact check Stinnett's work (I live near the seattle archives that Stinnett referenced along with others) so I can provide a little more information for you.

Toland's book depended on a large part on testimony from a then-unnamed "Seaman Z," whom we now know to be Robert Ogg. He has repeated his story many times, and it changes much between tellings.

Stinnett's book... wow, where to start. Well, we can start with Phil's post A cryptologic veteran's analysis of day of deceit. I can say that if his research is as shoddy as his referencing he's got holes large enough to sail Titanic through in his work; I've been to two branches he cites trying to verify source materials and it's clear he did not understand what he was reading and was plucking one sentence that agreed with his thesis out of a report or memo that disagreed with it.

You might have gotten off to a better start here if you had not advised people start with a look for conspiracy books. Start off with good GENERAL books first, then research the specialized topics.

Dude, you yourself asked about better books; I quote:

I see now what the problem is. You claimed there were "somewhat better" books about the attack, but when I asked you the names of some of them, you gave me some irrelevant info.
Once again, I'm looking for BOOKS that imply or suggest foreknowledge on Washington's part.

I listed Infamy and Day of Deceit. If you think a reply to your request is irrelevant then you've got some weird ideas. You obviously came here looking for a fight and we're not going to give you one.
